Ton Duc Thang University has expanded more international cooperation activities in Europe in 2024
During their business trip to Europe from September 30 to October 8, 2024, leaders from Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) not only enhanced educational development cooperation with member institutions of the University Consortium International (UCI), but also engaged in discussions to explore potential collaboration programs with esteemed partners and universities, further expanding the University’s network in its internationalization efforts.
On this occasion, the delegation visited and worked with several universities in the Czech Republic, including the University of South Bohemia (USB), the Technical University of Liberec (TUL), and the University of Chemistry and Technology, Prague (VSCHT).
1. The delegation visited and worked with the University of South Bohemia (USB)
On the morning of October 7, 2024, the TDTU delegation visited Professor Pavel Kozak, the Rector, and several professors from the University of South Bohemia. Leaders from both institutions discussed lecturer and student exchange activities under the Erasmus+ program that the two universities have signed as well as potential future collaborations, including the establishment of joint research groups, co-organizing international conferences in areas such as Economics, Environment, Social Sciences and Health, and various technology fields, among many.
The University of South Bohemia is a modern public university located in České Budějovice, offering over 200 Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral programs. It trains approximately 9,000 students across 8 faculties in fields such as Social Sciences and Health, Economics, Arts, Fisheries and Water Environment, Agriculture, and Technology. TDTU and the University of South Bohemia have signed a student exchange program (Erasmus+ and other programs) for English-taught curricula between the two institutions.
2. The delegation visited and worked with the Technical University of Liberec (TUL)
On the afternoon of October 7, 2024, leaders from Ton Duc Thang University visited the Technical University of Liberec. During this visit, the Heads of both universities signed a cooperation agreement in the areas of training, research, and lecturer/student exchanges, laying the foundation for specific collaborative programs in the future.
The Technical University of Liberec (TUL) is a dynamic medium-sized university that combines engineering and university-level education. Established in 1953, it comprises seven faculties, including Mechanical Engineering, Textile Engineering, Humanities and Education, Economics, Arts, and Architecture, along with an Institute for Nanomaterials, Advanced Technologies and Innovation. The Technical University of Liberec is renowned globally for its outstanding research achievements in nanomaterials, particularly in nano-textiles technology—Nanospider.
3. The delegation visited and worked with the University of Chemistry and Technology, Prague (VSCHT)
On October 8, 2024, leaders from the University of Chemistry and Technology, Prague welcomed the TDTU delegation for a visit and discussion on a new phase of collaboration. During this meeting, both institutions detailed not only bilateral doctoral study programs and research potential in the fields of chemistry, materials technology, and biotechnology, but also student exchange activities and co-organization of international scientific workshops in each university’s areas of strength.
VSCHT is a member of the European University Association, the European Federation of National Engineering Associations, and the International Society for Engineering Education. It is also a leading research and training university in the field of chemistry in the Czech Republic.
