Ton Duc Thang University Organized Activities to Celebrate the 42nd Anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (November 20, 1982 – November 20, 2024)
On November 20, 2024, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) organized a series of meaningful activities to celebrate the 42nd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (November 20, 1982 — November 20, 2024).
The program celebrating the 42nd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day was solemnly held in the University’s main auditorium.
Attending the event were leaders of the Party Committee, Associations, and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (VGCL), including Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu - Vice Chairman of the VGCL, Member of the Council of Ton Duc Thang University (the University Council); Mr. Nguyen Minh Dung - Chairman of the Inspection Committee of the VGCL, Member of the University Council; Mr. Tong Van Bang - Head of the Organizing Committee of the VGCL, Member of the University Council; Ms. Nguyen Thi La - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Ho Chi Minh City University and College, Member of the University Council; Mr. Vo Khac Thai – Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Federation of Labour; Mr. Nguyen Huy Can - President of the Ho Chi Minh City Association for Promoting Education, former Chairman of the University Council and Member of the University Council; and Ms. Hoang Thi Khanh - Chairwoman of the University’s Founding Council. The program also welcomed leaders and representatives from various agencies, organizations, institutions, universities, and amicable enterprises.
On behalf of TDTU, the event was attended by Dr. Vu Anh Duc - Chairman of the University Council; Dr. Tran Trong Dao - President of the University; the leaders from various departments and affiliated units of the University; as well as lecturers, staff, students, alumni of the University, and students from the Vietnam - Finland International School.
On this special and meaningful occasion, the University extended the deepest gratitude and honors the lecturers who have been with Ton Duc Thang University for 20 years, 15 years, and 10 years. These lecturers have accompanied the University and made significant contributions to the University’s development since its establishment.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Tran Trong Dao, President of the University, extended his congratulations and heartfelt gratitude to generations of lecturers and staff who have been dedicated and made great efforts to build and develop the University: “The dedication of the lecturers and staff to Ton Duc Thang University over the years is a journey of service. Generations of lecturers and staff of Ton Duc Thang University have been and will always be shining examples for students to follow, inspiring them to overcome challenges and strive for success, driving the University’s rapid and sustainable development.”
During the event, the University also celebrated and honored Dr. Duong Thi Thuy Van, Head of the Department of Testing and Quality Assessment, who was awarded the title of “Outstanding Educator,” along with eight other lecturers who were recently recognized as Associate Professors according to the decision of the State Council for Professor.
As part of the event, the University also held a ceremony to announce and present the appointment decision for Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Son, Dean of the Faculty of Law at TDTU, to the position of Vice President for the term 2021-2026.
Throughout November 2024, various meaningful activities were organized to express heartfelt gratitude to all lecturers and staff. These activities included visiting and presenting gifts to retired lecturers and staff, the completion of the gratitude wall titled “A Thousand Words of Gratitude,” initiated by the TDTU Youth Union, the “Back to the Old School Day” program jointly organized by the Center of Enterprise Cooperation and Alumni and faculties, and the Lecturers and Staff Sports Festival, jointly organized by the University’s Trade Union and other units.
The series of activities celebrating Vietnamese Teachers’ Day provided an opportunity for the University to acknowledge the contributions of the lecturers, staff, and employees to the University’s achievements over the years. At the same time, it served to inspire lecturers to foster pride in their profession, embrace the honor and responsibility of educators, promote the movement for excellent teaching and learning, instill gratitude in students, and contribute to enhancing the University’s educational quality.
