Ton Duc Thang University strengthening the cooperation with Canadian universities

The bilateral working sessions between Ton Duc Thang University and universities in Canada were conducted within the framework of Universities Canada's Digital mission to Vietnam, which took place in 3 days (from 23 to 25 November 2021).

The program was organized online by Universities Canada with the participation of the Canadian Embassy in Vietnam and 22 leading universities in Canada, in order to increase understanding and open new cooperation opportunities between universities of the two countries. Receiving an invitation from the organizers, Dr. Dinh Hoang Bach - Director of the International Cooperation, Research and Training Institute (INCRETI), Dr. Le Van Ut - Head of Department for Management of Science and Technology Development (DEMASTED), and MSc. Le Phuc - Head of the Department of Communication and Public Relations (PR) represented the University to attend.

With the topic of ReconnectingUniversities Canada's Digital mission to Vietnam program was organized with the aim of opening up opportunities to build and strengthen relationships between universities in Vietnam and Canada based on the International Education Strategy for 2019-2024 issued by the Canadian government in 2019. Accordingly, the contents of cooperation in education and training were discussed on the first day and the second day was to present and discuss cooperation in research.

Besides the joint sessions within the framework of the program, Ton Duc Thang University had held bilateral meetings to exchange and discuss with leaders of partner universities such as Ryerson University, Kwantlen Polytechnic University, York University, Victoria University, Polytechnic University of Montréal and many universities and educational agencies belong to the Canadian government. During the working sessions, Dr. Dinh Hoang Bach introduced the outstanding achievements of Ton Duc Thang University in higher education and research, and shared orientations and potential areas of bilateral cooperation. Leaders of the partner universities also shared about the strengths and potentials of each university and agreed on the orientation to deploy cooperation with Ton Duc Thang University. Accordingly, Ton Duc Thang University and partner universities will continue to discuss in detail about cooperation programs in the near future in cooperation in teaching and training; exchange of lecturers and students; carry out joint research projects; attend or co-organize international scientific conferences and seminars.

With many outstanding achievements in internationalization, Ton Duc Thang University has built a worldwide network of partners and is constantly expanding cooperation with new partners, especially in countries having a developed education like Canada. In 2017, Ton Duc Thang University also had the honor to welcome the Prime Minister of the Republic of Canada Justin Trudeau during his visit, working with the University and meeting with students of Ton Duc Thang University.
